Best headlamp!
I bought this to check on my chickens, dogs and my garden at night. I’ve never worn a headlamp but it is very helpful. It frees my hands up from having to hold a flashlight. The size is great and not too heavy on my head. The build quality is very good and the lights have different strengths of brightness. The light even tilts so you can look ahead when you walk but also see the ground. I love it so much that I bought my husband one too!

Buy this, and not the recharable or cheap ones…
I bought this because earlier I went with a cheaper and rechargeable set. Those things honestly were crap, and I am on my way to leaving a review on those that say so. This one however, so much brighter, its not heavy at all, and it lasts SO LONG because it is driven by batteries. I would avoid the rechargeable ones and get this guy. Totally worth it.

Super light
A gift for my son. He put it on and really likes it. Great light.

Great headlamp!
This lamp is very bright and has awesome battery life. I love that there are so many colors and modes. Particularly green as it gives the best visibility while preserving your night vision best. As a service member, I needed a headlamp that would dim green, and when I turn on and off, remember the last settings and remain dim and green. Its the only lamp I’ve found that does that. I have had some issues with the capacitive auto bright feature. I do very much wish that I could disable that. Not only is it not tactical, you risk blowing out your rhodopsin and blinding yourself and everyone around you if you touch the thing in the wrong place. That being said I have had several lamps and this one has the best battery life with options for decently bright and the color green.

Lots of brightness options, good visibility when camping
I love this headlamp. It is really powerful on its highest brightness setting. Just be cautioned that if you leave it on the brightest setting, the battery will drain quicker. That is compounded when the temps are cold. But I think this is something you’ll encounter with many of the headlamps on the market.I have taken this camping in Yellowstone, in my neighborhood, and have also used it to search for bugs or for hunting. It is multi-purposed and has great longevity. Just pack some extra batteries.

Better than the older version Storm — Update: Broken after 3 years
I use headlamps when doing home repairs, not outdoor active pursuits. For my needs, the Storm works great.I bought the 400 to replace a 5-year old Storm. (I think it was the original version with 250 lumen output and white and red lamps–no green or blue. That headlamp was working perfectly until it died of corrosion from leaking Amazon-branded batteries that were nowhere near their expiration date.)My older version had an incessant high-pitched coil-whine when the light was on. This one is silent. It’s much brighter at it’s max setting, as expected. I always had to use my older Storm at the highest setting while I don’t with the new one.The biggest improvement is the second physical button to toggle between the lamp colors. It’s much more intuitive than using multiple taps of the same button to toggle color, brightness, and flashing. I never need anything other than solid white, but I would sometimes inadvertently toggle the red or start the flashing and have a hard time getting it back to white with my older version. This user experience is much better. The one thing that is a step back from the previous version is there is no longer a pad on the inside of the headband where it contacts the forehead. It’s slightly more uncomfortable to wear for a long time and leaves an indentation in the skin from the plastic.Overall, I’m pleased. The build quality of my original Storm was great and would have gone forever if the batteries didn’t kill it. Hopefully this new version will prove just as good over time.UPDATE 11/30/2024:My 3-year old Storm 400, which is used 100% indoors for home repairs and doesn’t even go outside, is no longer usable due to a tiny plastic piece in the casing that broke off. This piece is critical for positioning the headlamp and without it, the lamp flops downward and doesn’t illuminate what is directly in front of you. This is now the third Black Diamond headlamp that I’ve had that has broken and I think it might be time to move on from this company’s products.

Dependable
We own the old model. The added feature of RGB is phenomenal!I can depend on this headlamp, even in a survival class setting.

Really a handy and usable light
Have used this light several times. It is very handy the headband is comfortable and the light is bright. Also like the fact it s dimmable if you don’t need it bright.

Grandios, was will man mehr.
