Perfect Travel Journal
If you want to journal while you’re traveling but you don’t just want an empty journal, this is for you. It has prompts, but it also has space to write whatever you want. There are 12 sections, for 12 trips, but you could also use each section for a different day on the same trip. I might use each section for a different city on my upcoming trip to Italy. It comes with stickers too, which is cute, but I probably won’t use them.I love that it is spiral bound because I can lay it completely flat while you write and you can turn the back cover completely flat against the back of the front cover. I also like how you can add your own picture in the frame on the front. There is also an envelope in the very back that would be perfect for keeping small mementos like receipts, leaves, photos, napkins, etc. It’s smaller than my 13 in laptop, so will fit in most travel bags and will be easy to take with you wherever you go. The pages have little colored rectangles at the top right corner that say “trip no. #” so it will be easy to find the section you’re looking for when going through it again. It seems really durable as well but I haven’t taken it out of the house yet, so TBD. Overall, a great little travel journal for semi-structured journal entries to remember your trip by.

Different than your normal travel journal
I’m a paper-goods nerd. I love planners, notebooks, journals and pens. I will almost never pass up the opportunity to buy a new planner, journal or pen and in this case, I’m glad that I did.The journal is 7.5″x9″, which is a good size for me. The cover is a nice canvas material, and there is a place to put a photo of your own to make it even more personalized. The spiral binding looks like it should hold up over time, but if you’re the type of person to add a lot of pictures, it may become pretty chonky. Opening it up, it dives right into the list of trips where you write in the date, destination and page number for each trip you document. Requiring you to write in the page number is kind of odd since the pages are pre-printed and they didn’t number any of the pages. The do color code a tab on each page, so you can flip through them to find a specific trip number. This travel journal is a bit different than most I’ve seen. Most will just dive into the trip *after* you’ve taken it. In this journal, each trip starts with the questions “What are your expectations for this experience?” and “What’s your must-do list for this destination?”. I found this interesting because it let you look back and see what your expectations were and then what your actual experience was. The “after” prompts are also pretty unique, asking about what you remember feeling, seeing, touching, smelling or hearing in one. The third page has a photo space and then asks how your expectations differed from reality – a question I expect based on the first two prompts, but not exactly the appropriate location for it in my opinion. There is another page of journal prompts and then 4 pages for unprompted writing. There are 12 trip sections, a Bucket List page and a couple of extra note pages in the back. The pocket on the back cover has a secured flap, which is better than the open pocket in most other journals.Overall, it’s a nice way to document your trip before and after you travel.
