MUST READ! INSTRUCTIONS OMIT ASSEMBLY
The hiking poles are terrific, well made and light as a feather. If ONLY the instructions included how to lock the 3 sections in place! Nowhere, absolutely nowhere in the instructions are directions how to keep the sections from separating after you insert the 3 pieces into each other. This almost sounds ridiculous and you have to applaud any of the folks who assemble the poles WITHOUT finding a video on YouTube. The instructions include a warning of not poking yourself in the eye, but not how to lock the sections together. One would think it might be intuitive or obvious, nope! Maybe there is a locking mechanism for each section, nope. Perhaps it’s a twist and lock for the sections, wrong again. It turns out after inserting the sections together, and holding the pole sideways, so the sections don’t separate, there is an unmarked telescoping section of the base, completely not obvious, that you pull this telescoping section as far as it can go, while holding the base with the other hand. When it seems it won’t extend any further, and REALLY pulling, a spring loaded metal button pops up to prevent the pole from separating, by keeping the pole rigid. When it’s time to collapse the pole, once again using two hands and your thumb, extend the base of the pole just a little further to take the pressure off the button, press the button down, and slide the section back into the base, and the pole separates for storage. It’s easy once you do it, but a complete mystery unless someone showed you, or you did not inadvertently damage the pole trying to riddle this out on your own.The YouTube video was excellent, and the person who produced it had found many customers who had returned the poles because they were unable to figure out how to lock the sections in place. For the cost of the poles, it certainly makes sense not wanting to damage them trying to figure things out, and I readily admit I was stumped too.The poles are great, but the instructions did not offer the basic information of how to lock the sections together. And remember, don’t poke yourself in the eye! All said and done it was a good laugh.

Great purchase for trial running
These poles are amazing quality! Super lightweight but still strong and sturdy. They fold down easily and fit perfectly in a running vest or pack. The grip is comfortable, and the wrist straps make them easy to use on steep climbs or long trail runs. Definitely worth the investment if you’re serious about trail running or ultramarathons! Love the straps in the hands so they don’t come off!

The envy of the race course
Initially hesitant, but boy am I glad I committed to the purchase… Well worth the money. What a difference these poles made… They got me to mile 42 on an Ultra Marathon Trail Run. These things shine the most on uphill ascends, especially on gradual ones where I was able to power hike at 4 MPH! They also were a life saver during several stream crossings by helping me to balance from rock to rock.I was the envy of the race course thanks to these poles.

Legsavers!
This was my first pair of trekking poles. I purchased them for a 30hr ultra trail run that I probably shouldn’t have been doing since I had injured my foot a month earlier. But, then again, I signed up for an ultra and that should tell you something about my decision making. The gloves/shark system: Absolutely love it. Genius. I didn’t have to grip the poles and waste energy. I could still swat bugs and pick them out of my eye without feeling like I needed to do something with the pole. It stayed attached if I wanted it to. It was super easy to figure out. The push button release had just enough resistance so that you didn’t accidentally release them.Make sure you measure and get the correct size poles. These are NOT adjustable. They fold and extend fully with a snap of a button that pops out when engaged – like a tailgate or beach tent if you’re familiar with that. I read some posts on a running group that said they sent two sets back before they realized they just weren’t pulling them to full extension. I would have done the same thing had I not read that.Durability. So far so good. They still look new except the tip, but that’s still in great shape after a rocky, muddy, clay, and sandy course.Lightweight. Yes yes yes. I stowed them in my hydration vest and literally forgot they were there.

Absolute Kaufempfehlung!
