Robust design, good mid level tripod.
Robust, well built design. And very very very tall.Very easy to set up.Has all the design features of a mid range tripod.The only part that it looks like they skimped on, is the adjustment handle which is hollow plastic. And is replaceable, if it bothers you.Assembly required, but very simple. Only thing of note is that you have to push on that hollow handle to get it to thread. Not an issue, just expect to need to do it.The mounting plate for the attachments with the 1/4 screw is a bit different from cheap plates. Hold the attachment up to the plate, and screw in the screw from the underside of the plate, can’t just twist the attachment down onto the screw. I like this, it’s more precise, instead of getting attachments that end up sitting halfway crooked on the tripod.As the advert says, it’s made of aluminum. That’s better for weight. But I will miss being able to attach things to the legs via magnets.All around please with the purchase, great product.

Fairly nice, entry level tripod
Pros & ConsFor the record, I just received my tripod yesterday.Cons first: It’s very lightweight (which feels like a negative to me), making it not feel very secure. I don’t believe it would hold up very well for travel. I would not trust this tripod with an expensive or heavy camera. It’s entry level, which is all I needed for what I am using it for. From what I can tell, it’s 95% plastic. It could be easily knocked over if someone tripped on a leg. The footprint is very big when all leg sections are fully extended, so it takes up a lot of real estate. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be a way to reduce that footprint size in any sort of locked position. The head is not fluid (not surprising at this low price point), so the movements are ok, but not super smooth.Pros: It’s lightweight, which may be a positive for you. If you’re looking for a really small (perhaps desktop) compact tripod, this one is that indeed. Also, the legs can be extended to a full 70+”. The carrying bag, which was included, is surprisingly nice. It also includes a cell phone mount, which is what I will mostly be using this tripod with.

That fancy consumer magazine that rates products always takes into account price and that’s exactly what I’m going to do. I’m keeping this tripod because it serves my purpose which is to hold up astronomical binoculars at a height where I can get underneath them while standing and still be pointing them at the heavens. That said these are large, heavy binoculars and this tripod is at its weight limit. Translated: it can shake a lot when fully extended if you have something fairly heavy on it like a pair of astronomical binoculars. Consider the price and take a look at the reviews on the other tripods available on Amazon. If you want something sturdy, well built that can handle a heavy camera, telescope, or binoculars you’re going to spend well over $100. For the price this tripod works well enough to satisfy me.
