What I wanted for awhile now
Works great. I’ve wanted an e-ink reader that supports multiple sources and this fits the bill. It’s slow compared with a smartphone, but it’s fast enough for a reader.

Decent E-Ink E-reader
I bought this because I wanted an e-ink reader that allowed me to read Hoopla books. Since my paperwhite only allows Kindle reads, I needed something else. I cannot read off of an iPad or other tablets because I get dizzy. I need the e-ink format. There were a few settings I had to researched during the set up process but besides that, I am happy with my purchase.

Good for typing
For its price, it works really well. It was a bit of a struggle to set up, buts it’s a solid ereader. If you know Android, you’ll be right at home. I installed a custom launcher on it, and that was a breeze. I am using it to wordprocess with a Bluetooth keyboard. In fast mode, the lag is barely noticeable. Recommended if you want to build a writer deck on a budget.

Extremely disappointing experience — outdated technology and poor service
⭐☆☆☆☆ Extremely disappointing experience — outdated technology and poor serviceI rarely write reviews, but my experience with BOOX has been extremely disappointing. The customer service is absolutely terrible — unresponsive, rigid, and completely uninterested in the customer’s needs. Their only focus seems to be on charging more money, not on creating a satisfied customer. The policies are one-sided and inflexible, clearly designed to benefit the company, not the buyer. As for the device itself, it feels like something from the 1980s — very low-level technology, slow loading times, primitive interface, and outdated fonts that make reading unpleasant. The user experience is frustrating, clunky, and far below what one would expect from a supposedly “smart” e-reader in this price range.Overall, this product and the company behind it feel like a step twenty years backward in both technology and customer care.I strongly recommend considering alternatives from more reliable brands that actually care about their users.

Perfect minimum size
The size is perfect for me. Choosing Linux is a good idea.

Good Eink android tablet. Great for Hoopla. But I Prefer Kindle.
It’s a small android tablet with e-ink screen. It is what you think it is. I got it because my Kindle paper-white device supports my library’s libby app but not their Hoopla app, which I find myself using a lot these days. So if you want a Kindle-like device that supports the Google play store & other Android apps out the box, this is it. But if it’s just for reading books, I still prefer my Kindle, which has more streamlined access to my Amazon library & the Libby app. So far, I like the device a lot for hoopla & probably for other freeware such as project gutenburg apps. But I prefer my Kindle usually. The battery life seems great too. I’ve had it for a week & it still hasn’t needed a charge.
