Almost Superb
I would gove this a 4.75 out of 5 if I could. Received this item over the past weel and on the weekened, tested it out on a 17 mile Urban hike (with partial jogging) from Virginia into D.C. for some sightseeing. Camelbak is a namebrand that has been around since before my Marine Corps days. In fact, the Marine Corps issued Camelbacks back in 2006 and I STILL have that one…so the quality they are known for is present in this model. These are my very small but present exceptions. The volume of water is intentionally small (50oz which is almost 1.5 liters), not bad although likely not intended for an 8-hour urban hike, so consider your particular water-intake needs vs what you want to tackle. I think I overdid it.#2 the zipper compartment on the bottom is very small….but with the bladder filled, it becomes even tighter. With the bladder full, I was able to squeeze one key+fob, a debit card, 4 Tums tablets in a sandwich bag, a 41/2″ Mophie battery cell (which is not small) to recharge my cell phone (which I carried in my hand), AND a coiled 3.5 foot cable…so come to think of it, I squeezed a LOT in there….which made me go test an iPhone10 in there as I was writing this review. Nope, iPhone10 will not fit, even with an empty bladder, but that’s still not bad.#3 the way the straps are shaped under the arm pits and how they connect to the pack kind of makes the entire pack ride up a bit on your upper back, which aesthetically can make you feel like you look a little awkward with this tiny turtle bump on your upper back. If you dont care so much about appearance, then it’s not an issue. As I emptied the bladder, the pack seemed to relax down more.Otherwise, this pack fits REALLY snug, which is what you want when you are jogging/hiking. Once you buckled the chest buckle, the bounce of a full bladder while jogging is quite minimal, even for 1/5 liters. The flap that comes over the bladder mouth is very secure and the easy fill access to the cap is a godsend, I am still testing for cap leaks, not 100% sure yet.

Lightweight and good fit
Fit is well and nozzle is easy to use. Very lightweight and perfect for mid range activities where you don’t need extra space for snacks or a large bladder.

I immediately bought one for my son!
I’m not a big reviewer, and admittedly I am not easily impressed. However, I was hesitant on purchasing the Camelback compared to other alternatives due to the of the cost of the Camelback . Now that I have it in my hands, I am more than impressed with the quality and functionality. The construction and materials are excellent. The style and appearance are excellent. Without a doubt I have made the best choice.

Good for Specific Tastes
Got this for my husband after searching for something that would meet all his specific criteria and it is great! He doesn’t love the valve since we think the closed position should be up as the normal and down as the open position.Holds lots of water and it’s great for biking or hiking. Has lasted a long time (almost 2years now) and never had any problems.

Perfect Running Pack
Update: A “brand new” hydration pack was delivered yesterday (10/23) and is PREFECT…no leaks, perfect fit; excited to try it out on my long run.LOVE everything about this hydration pack! Perfect size, great quality, light weight, decent size tank that’s removable, nice side pocket that’ll be great to hold your gels, chews etc…easy side grab while running. The PROBLEM and MAJOR concern is the pack had left over water in the bladder and hose. This is pretty disgusting considering I purchased a “new” pack not a “used” one with someone else’s backwash! The packaging was sealed and the bag didn’t looked used however someone missed a quality control check if this pack was returned and resold. I reordered again so fingers crossed that this was an isolated Incident.

The bladder leaked
The bladder in this leaked after the first time I used it. I kayaked with this and it worked great. I packed it into my suitcase and took it out to Utah to go hiking and it leaked from the O ring and from the bottom seam as well. The leak from the bottom seam was quite severe. I wound up buying a replacement bladder at an outfitters shop near the National State Park ( in other words it was expensive!) I could tell right away the quality difference! The O ring fit better. The tube connection was better and the seam was much better. For the remainder of my two week hiking trip, I had no more problems. I am back home, having packed the whole thing the same way and it isn’t leaking. So it is nothing I did. Don’t bother buying this here.

El sistema de la boquilla es muy bueno, evita que entren elementos en el sistema.Buena capacidad para recorridos cortos o medios. No hace presión en los hombros.Recomendado.

I have bought several of these over past 10 yrs and because the Amazon ” price was right” I decided on this one. Must admit, design improvements such as much larger fill hole, much improved locking system ( so NO LEAKS), minimalist feel and bite valve at correct height ( even though I switched tube to left side) it still came out perfect. Since there are always many questions…I will answer in advance. Small pocket (see pic 4) only big enough for keys…50 ounces of water is plenty..it weighs practically nothing, fits in the small of your back and you don’t even feel it. Water does NOT taste plasticky whatsoever. You can even put ice in it..then add yr. water..and it stays cold for a long time. Just an excellent product with unbeatable value.
