Wildland fire fighter approved.
AS a first responder, This is an excellent sleeping bag..Warm and cozy.I used this for 3 months during wild land fire fighting as recommend from my company..Almost too warm at times..so definitely a winter sleeping bag..I slept on top of it during the warmer deployments..lol.But being too cold is much worse then having to sleep with it open or on top of it..Definitely my best winter bag and recommend for cold weather. Warm sleeping bag!
These sleeping bags are Top Quality. I have ordered two for my husband and myself. We decided to try the 0 degree Colman sleeping bags and camp in 40 degree weather. Boy ! These bags kept us warm ! We had to remove layers of clothing. I ended up sleeping in a t shirt and shorts because how well the heat is retain in these bags. The zipper quality was great did not have any issues. These sleeping bags are bulky but they compensate over keeping you warm.I can not wait to test them in the winter this year. – will provide update later.

it is a bag that you sleep in
Warm; saved my morale on a very arduous hike through 3 feet of snow up a VT. mountain side with snow covered planks all the way up and down. God, never again. I despise the mummy-style bag, but use it anyway because camping is not really about domesticated comfort. This bag design is perfect for survival and staying warm under very bad circumstances, assuming precautions are kept to keep it dry. It is not meant for chilling at the house, so it gets all the stars it deserves, despite being annoying from a true comfort standpoint. I just wish it had like an inch more width at the bottom. I’m 6’1″ and it was too long, but not wide enough at the feet…but again, it is a mummy bag and I got what I paid for. It did the trick; just keep your feet together and contort your body like a night crawler until fatigue overcomes discomfort and your own stupidity for not staying at home. On a serious note, the bag is very cozy and plush enough to almost be annoying to carry, but if you avoid sleeping pads like I do, the thickness of it is a huge win.

Worth the money.
Ok I will begin by stating I have not yet fully tested this bag. Upon receiving I wanted to test two things that I have read the most complaints about: The bag is too small. The bag doesn’t fit in the stuff sack.In regards to the size of the bag….. I am 6’0″ 250 lbs. I fit very comfortably inside this bag. Now my version of comfort may be different than yours, but for me I could lay inside with my bag liner and comfortably roll from my back to my side, adjust my legs, and get my arms in and out without much effort. Hood fits great and zipper is easy to manipulate. As for the stuff sack, I read multiple reviews saying the sack is too small to get the bag back in. I had two motivations for this challenge. 1) the bag came in the stuff sack meaning that either some human or machine was able to get it in there, and 2) I read a review from someone else who stated that if you fold the bag and keep it the same width as the foot box then it will fit. I rolled the bag from the feet as tightly as I could while also folding the sides to keep the width the same. It is a tight fit, but I was able to get it into the sack in one attempt with medium effort. Overall this seems to be a great bag when you compare weight/temp rating/price.I am leaving in a few days (late October Colorado) for a 6 day hunt. I will be camping at around 9500-10000 feet. When I return I will complete this review taking into account the performance and quality of the bag.Update: I have now returned from my hunting trip and I must say the bag performed great! It snowed almost everyday and got into the low teens and even dipped into single digits sometimes at night with lots of wind that even collapsed our tent at one point. I did have an issue with the little zipper attachment that is supposed to prevent the bag from snagging. Somehow it came off track and wouldn’t let me zip. I just broke it off and had no further issues. I will also admit that I hate being cold when sleeping so I go a little overboard to prevent that. For this trip I slept in my thermals, had a fleece bag liner, and my feet were covered in a fleece jacket. Having said that, I was not cold for one second the entire time. In fact, at some points i got a little too warm and had to open the bag a bit. Note: i slept on a cot with a thermarest self-inflating sleeping pad.Overall, this bag did exactly what I needed it to do and did it without breaking the bank. If you place your expectations at the price point of this bag, it will surely exceed them.

Sleep Tight.
warm as heck. Haven’t pushed it to its limits and I probably wont, but based off my time in service this sleeping system is pretty avg. it will keep you warm and is comfortable. however with all gear like this test it in controlled settings before roughing it.

Best for the money
Has kept me warm on very cold nights. The foot box is a little small. Still 9.5 out of 10.

Great bag for the price
Used it a couple nights in 35° weather in the desert and it worked great. Enough room to move around in but still fits snug to keep you warm. At the price, I think it’s a great bag.

My husband and I each used one of these sleeping bags on a week long east coast camping trip on the ocean front. Night time temps dipped down to 4/5 degrees Celsius and we were incredibly comfortable and warm. Very happy with this purchase. Well worth it for the price. Very comfortable and cozy. I noted a lot of reviews stating it was impossible to get back into the bag so I was worried. While I can see that being an issue if you roll up the sleeping bag and try to get it into the bag that way, the bag is meant to be a stuff sack. So just stuff the sleeping bag in and easy peasy. I very much recommend. Raved about it all week!

I’m 6ft2/95kgs and the length and width of the bag is ok.Enough space at the feet and shoulders to be able to roll over and not have the whole thing become a tangled mess during the night. Wide enough to be able to lay on your side and hang a knee off to the side for support as well. The hood is really great, keeping my head warm.To be honest I left it half unzipped as I was getting too hot during the night, using it more like a doona than a sleeping bag.

This Coleman mummy style is warm. I was BAKING within 2 minutes of being inside it!Fair enough I was indoors and not in very cold temperatures but it feels warm within 1, 2 minutes of being inside, it seems to be so well insulated.I feel so good being inside it, like a cocoon. I love the feel of the material, it is not a cold or itching material, even in tshirt I like the feel of the material against my skin.It seems to be made of excellent quality.I did not feel claustrophobic despite its mummy style.I had bought this sleeping bag originally for a member of my family who is younger, slimmer and taller than me and expected this member to test the sleeping bag as it did not happen as I was told later, I tried it out.I had bought this Coleman mummy sleeping bag for this member and I received today Coleman Big Basin sleeping bag that is of rectangular shape and not as restrictive in the feet area ( I have not tested the Coleman Big Basin sleeping bag yet) but I could easily use that mummy style sleeping bag.I did not feel like I could not stand the mummy style cut of the sleeping bag on my feet. Plus at 1m66 as my feet are higher up, I have even more room width wise. There is plenty of room on the top of my legs, stomach and shoulders area.I even closed the hood without feeling claustrophobic.Without a pillow under my head I felt comfortable in the hood, I felt supported under the neck without even realising I was, I felt cushioned with the top of the sleeping bag.The zip is strong, seems well made, of good quality and does not catch. In fact the whole sleeping bag seems extremely well made.I am in love with this Coleman sleeping bag.I took it to the bedroom to try it out on top of the bed and it is not heavy and cumbersome, it is reasonably light. The Coleman bag the sleeping bag came however, is a disappointment.I was unable to put the sleeping bag inside, the bag is too small. But if there is a choice between return this sleeping bag because of the bag it came in, I choose to keep this sleeping bag and buy another bag to put it in.I am so impressed with this sleeping bag, it is warm, cosy and beautiful to be in it.Even to look at it, to handle the sleeping bag, its zip, the material we can tell the workmanship is superb!!
