A fabulous sunscreen from the makers of Thrive Causemetics
This sunscreen comes from the same company behind Thrive Causemetics, so if you already love their killer Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara, the Bigger Than Beauty brand is another home run. The Daily Defender Mineral Sunscreen contains SPF 50, which is key for my fair skin. It is water-resistant and formulated with Barrier Power Boost, which is a “formula that supports a brighter, more radiant-looking complexion while maintaining skin’s moisture balance”.I ordered the untinted version, which is suitable for all skin tones. It looks slightly beige when it first comes out of the tube, but once blended, it becomes completely translucent. It creates a smooth, protective layer that shields the skin from UV exposure and environmental stressors, and contains skin care ingredients like hyaluronic Acid, vitamin C, and niacinamide.After application, it may look shiny but dries down after a while, and it leaves a dewy finish that works beautifully under foundation, giving my complexion a soft, healthy glow. If you prefer a matte look, a light dusting of powder after applying makeup will remove the shine.The bottle is 1.7 ounces and travel-friendly, and despite the compact size, there is plenty of product to last through daily use. This is one of those skincare staples that checks every box in what I look for in a sunscreen. Coming from a brand known for performance, integrity, and clean ingredients, it’s already a fave. Greasy; Effective
Bigger Than Beauty Skincare, Daily Defender Broad Spectrum SPF 50 Mineral Sunscreen comes in a tube that I think is fairly small for the price. At the time of writing this review, it costs $40 for this tube of 1.7 oz of sunscreen, which does seem a little skimpy to me.This sunscreen isn’t strongly scented, but it still has a subtle scent of coconut and other, more fleeting scents that I associate with summer and sunscreen. Not bad, just “sunscreeny”. The biggest problem I have with this product is that it feels heavy on my skin. It feels like body sunscreen, not sunscreen that is supposed to be made for the face. My skin has a very heavy shine when I am wearing this. I need to put on powder after I apply this sunscreen.I would reach for this if I were at the beach, but I don’t think I will use it on a regular basis at home. It simply feels too heavy, and I will worry that it is clogging my pores. That said, I would trust it at the beach, because it does have staying power (and frankly, I don’t care as much about a shiny face at the beach).So if you are using it at the beach, yes, by all means, use it as regular sunscreen. It doesn’t slide and my makeup stayed on perfectly all day with this as a base. However, every day use is a little more uncertain. I like my sunscreen to be more matte.

My Honest Review for the Bigger Than Beauty Mineral Sunscreen
I like having SPF 50 mineral sunscreen. The good thing about this blend is that it does not leave a white cast. It also has good consistency and texture. A small amount goes a long way. My only concern is the smell. It has a chalky smell. They do advise that you will need to apply it every two hours, and you should wait for 15 minutes before sunlight exposure. So those are things that I think could approved.

Love the added skincare benefits
I enjoyed using this sunscreen! It’s a decently thick formula, but it absorbs easily into the skin with very little work. It doesn’t feel heavy once applied, but does leave a bit of a shine/sheen to the skin. There’s a slight coconut scent and a whiff of that sunscreen smell but I was not bothered by it. What I like is the infused powerhouse skincare ingredients like niacinamide, vitamin c and hyaluronic acid. These are all in my skincare regime too, so I don’t know if I’m overdoing it with these, but I’m assuming it’s minimal in this. I was worried the added skincare could make my makeup pill, but everything laid down nicely on top of it. I did feel a little shiny throughout the day with this layered under my typical makeup, which includes a setting powder and spray, so if you are on the oily side, this might not be as ideal for you.
