Neat little gadget!
I am a guy, therefore I love gadgets. Multi-blade knives? Check! Folding pliers? I got ’em! Flashlight with built-in firestarter? Yes please! People like me are the reason Ron Popeil died rich. When I saw this gadget, I knew I had to have it.Right out of the package I could tell that this was a nice solid little unit. It’s bigger, heavier and made of better material than the cheap stamped-out trash they sell at the flea market, with precise machining and markings (1″ US ruler, 30mm metric ruler, 90° protractor). Nice semi-matte finish. 5/5 for build quality.Geekey suffers a little in terms of usability. Multitools always compromise between versatility and functionality. This gadget does a lot of things, but only a couple of them well. The screwdriver at the tip is the worst offender: it tries to be a slotted screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver, and square driver all in one, but it’s too thick for the first, too narrow for the second, and too long for the third. It works well as a paint can opener and tape slitter. The serrated cord cutter notch is useless: it left the end of a length of paracord a frayed mess. On the other hand, the box wrenches work well, with a clever design that accommodates both SAE and metric hex heads, and the 1/4″ recessed hex driver really comes in handy for tight spaces. And of course the bottle opener (the sine qua non of multitools) works flawlessly. Overall, 3/5 for functionality. It does not replace or outperform any other tool in my EDC.It does have one feature that none of my other gadgets has, and that is why I just had to have it: it has a tiny little smoking pipe! Unfortunately,this is another one of those compromises I mentioned above. The stem length (distance between the bowl and the user’s lips) is only about 1″, so it hits hot, and the pipe is metal, which heats up quickly. Be careful or you might burn your lip! Also, the mouthpiece is at the angled tip of the key, so you have to hold it at an angle to get a good draw. Finally, the bowl is wide and shallow, leaving some of your totally legal smoking material unburned. I give it 3/5: it beats carving a pipe out of an apple, but there are better keychain pipes out there, if that’s what you’re into.All in all, I should rate this item at a respectable 4 stars, but I like it so much I’m giving it a bonus star. It’s a unique and cool little piece that’s unlike anything else in my gadget collection. It’s not my go-to for anything, even smoking, but paired with my keychain folding knife, it makes for a good EDC lanyard for when I’m out riding and don’t want to carry my Leatherman. 5/5, would buy again!

I think this is the best key multitool out there
I really like this. It used to be part of my EDC keychain until I lost it. I would buy another one, but I’ve switched all of my EDC gear over to titanium. And the flashlight I carry has small magnets on it. So this would be constantly adhering to the magnets on my flashlight. It’s kind of a bother to me. But if they came out with the titanium version of this in the future, I would be all in.

Key-shaped everyday carry with several nice-to-have utilities
A great little keychain fob with several uses in a pinch. I doubt I’d ever utilize the one-hitter, but I love handing it to people and seeing if they can guess the secret. I’ve used the serrated edge to open a few packages. I’m sure it will come in handy a few times before I croak.

One thing I have to say about multi-tools like this is that I never expect the tools to be mediocre at best, except for the bottle opener. This tool is no better or worse than all the myriad of multi-tools out there.I’ll call out the worst function first, the protactor. With no way to socket a needle and thread, this protractor is just useless. At least it is not a hindrance.The wrenches are the next bad design, they can only be used if there is enough clearence to rotate the Geekey. But I’ll have to say you would be better off with this multi-tool than most of those flat wallet packs.The wire stripper? I haven’t come across a wire it could strip yet.The metal scribe works well, but is much too wide for my tastes.The screwdrivers are very small, so I don’t imagine that I will find much use for them.Finally, the pipe. Any side of the bowl pipe stem will not draw properly and this Geekey is no exception. No mattter how well or loose you pack the bowl it is still going to draw heavy from the side the pipe stem is located. So if you are going to smoke that little bowl you’ll have to do a lot of stirring.Now for the thing that works well, the bottle opener. It is great for opening the occasional bottle, but you wouldn’t want to use it if you’re playing bartender.All in all, I should just stick with bottle openers that fit on my keychain or slide into my wallet instead of wasting around twenty dollars on something like this.

A cool tool to have with you at all times because it comes im handy for so many things. Find myself using it at work to tighten loose tapegun screws. Product is built with quality and does not bend under strong torque from turning. Price was on the high side but I’d say well worth it. This would make an excellent gift to anyone.
