Good quality at an affordable price
I installed 2 30 foot cables on. Hot and cold water lines in a crawl space to prevent the pipes from freezing. I also wrapped them in fiberglass insulation as recommended by the manufacturer.They kicked right on and have been working for the past month. Very affordable andade real well. They come with the tape to attach them to the pipes every 10 feet.

Tested good before installing. I like its ability to over wrap itself for valve and water meters safely. Its a bit stiff to work with thou. Has better tolerance to moisture or wetness unlike other heat tapes. I have used two for my own purpose and recommended to a friend to use which he did with this purchase.

Works for a time
I’m giving this product 4 stars as it worked well for 2 years. It was installed in a cabin septic drain pipe that sits at an elevation of 10,500 feet. For 2 years this product kept the pipe from freezing, which is somewhat common in this location. Of course when it failed with no warning, I did have a frozen pipe. If you purchase, just proactively replace it upon the warranty expiration date. I used a higher cost item to replace this product and I guess time will tell.

Keeps your palm trees alive
I use these for a very unconventional use – Keeping my palm trees alive. Now that winter is passed and summer is showing its face in Texas, my palm trees are flourishing after a cold winter. I wrap my palm trees with this cable just like you would a water line. The built in sensor turns the cable on when temperatures drop below freezing and shut off when the risk of freezing is over. The indicator light lets you know they are powered. I have had no issues with the cables working in the elements or failing to work. Whether its pipes or palm trees, these keep things from freezing.
