    Compact, convenient, and surprisingly capable.
This portable espresso maker heats up quickly and pulls a solid shot with a nice layer of crema. The 3-in-1 capsule compatibility is handy when I’m on the go, and the USB-C power makes it easy to use in the car, or at the office. The frothing base is a bonus for quick lattes, cleanup is straightforward, and it fits in a cup holder or daypack. Great little travel machine for camping mornings or desk breaks.

    Travel coffee maker
I’m always traveling and have to wake up super wayside I thought bringing this portable electric coffeemaker would be great. The packaging was good and the instructions were euro follow. It makes a great express with a nice foam cream. I give it a 4 star for convenience and easy cleanup.

A must have for a coffee drinker. Easy to use and makes a great cup!
This portable machine makes a great cup of coffee on the run. It is easy to use with great instructions on proper usage. I travel for my job and constantly stop for coffee when I am traveling, but now I can have a much better coffee made fresh and much cheaper! It is super lightweight and works as one would think it does. I use it daily during travel. It is high-end in appearance, and it cleans up quickly and easily with a good rinse and wipe-down.

Works once you figure it out
Works well enough, doesn’t appear as advertised. The most frustrating part is the instructions. You kind of just have to figure it out for yourself. It was at least a fun staff bonding activity as we all sat over it trying to figure it out, lol

Decent espresso machine for on-the-go, best to use pods
This portable espresso machine looks as advertised. An instructions manual is included and took some rereading and trial and error to utilize the machine. One of the four circles to indicate the battery level actually had a crack on the inside (behind the screen), but it didn’t affect how the machine worked. This coffee machine is great to bring to work because my workplace doesn’t allow coffeemaker machines to be plugged into their outlets. I think this works best with pods, but it can get messy if you use fresh grounds. The milk frothing function is adequate, but I prefer the taste of steamed milk.

    Excellent Portable Espresso
This is a cool little espresso maker, perfect for long car rides, camping, or the office. The battery life is surprisingly long. It lasted the whole 8 hours I was at work, and I made a cup once an hour. I used pods since it’s a cleaner process for my situation, but I love that I can use beans as well. It’s small enough to toss in a backpack, but still pulls a shot with real cream that tastes just as good as my countertop machine. So cool!

    Good for coffee fanatics.
If you are a latte/espresso fanatic, this machine may be worth it to you, although I question how much caffeine a body needs or can take. Nonetheless, it’s a nice way to spoil yourself for someone else if they’re going on a long drive or don’t want to hit the communal break room at work, or heading out camping and are willing to compromise on many comforts, but not their morning java. Instructions are terrible but you can figure it out. Output is less than impressive, but you’ll get enough for one latte or espresso and can easily make more periods. The shot of espresso it provides tastes fine, but I don’t think many people drink it as is anyway. Frother works. But it does not create enough milk froth for me. Battery life is impressive, but you’ll have to juice it back up everyday if you use it throughout the day. Easiest to use with pods, or if you’re fine with not washing it out every time you use it. Otherwise, you’ll need to use it near running water. I consider this one of those discretionary kitchen gadgets that are useful under very limited circumstances for a niche audience. Whether or not the cost is worth, it depends entirely on how much you want your caffeine while you’re away from civilization.

EDIT – After owning this for 8 months and only using it a few times, it has (spectacularly) stopped working. The unit actually exploded with some force that coffee was splattered all over the kitchen. It seems that there was some sort of clog and the pressure made the unit explode. It had been properly cleaned after every use so the issue must have been internal. When shaking the unit, it sounds like there’s water swishing around inside it and it doesn’t power on at all anymore. For that reason, I’ve had to lower this to one star and cannot recommend it anymore.I do like an espresso or a mocha on the odd occasion so I thought this portable espresso machine would be perfect for taking away on trips or to work.First off, the build quality is great. It’s nice and compact and is about the size of a regular water bottle. You get 3 adapters with the machine, one for larger Dolce Gusto pods, a small one for Nespresso pods and there’s also a compartment for ground coffee.Along with the adapters, you get a USB C charging cable, a weighing scoop and a cup which screws on to the end of the machine too.Charging is done via the charging port below the button.Using the machine is straightforward enough. You fill the reservoir with the correct amount of water (shown on the inside of the reservoir), you either long press the button for immediate hot or cold water, or double press the button to heat your water up first.I tried all 3 but putting boiled water from the kettle in to the reservoir was much quicker, as you’d expect.I did try heating the water in the machine too, which works great. The only thing is that it can take about 4 minutes to boil, so bear that in mind if you want your drink in a hurry.Putting the relevant adapter on is very easy and the supplied instructions are very straight forward.I tried a hot chocolate Dolce Gusto pods first…even though I knew that there probably wouldn’t be enough water to go through the pod. I had the idea that I’d just top it up with hot milk but sadly, it didn’t work out well. The hot chocolate was far too weak with the added milk so it’s not really worth wasting these types of pods on this machine. Still, Dolce Gusto coffee pods will work great!Next I tried the Nespresso pods which worked perfectly. I mixed my coffee in with my hot chocolate to make a nice Mocha. Tasty!Overall, this is a great portable espresso machine. Take it on long walks, camping trips or to work, you’ll be able to enjoy your favourite coffee on the go.The machine is well made, easy to use and it does exactly what it says on the tin!I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a portable espresso machine.

Superb – just what I’ve been looking for!Let’s just say I love my coffee and I now ONLY drink espresso, so when I go away from home, I often struggle as most B&B’s/Hotels only have instant coffee available in the rooms. So I had on occasion actually taken my Nespresso machine with me, but this is a pretty large device. This portable device is much more convenient for travels. It’s a solid, well-made device that can take large or small coffee pods (I only tried it with Nespresso capsules which work fine) as well as ground coffee. You can pour in cold water and let it heat it up, or hot water and just let it pump it through into a plastic cup on the base.I’d already read that while these devices can heat up water, this does not produce the best coffee as the water temp is usually a bit lower than boiling, plus it consumes a lot of the stored energy. Much more efficient to use a kettle to heat the water – nearly always have kettles around.First effort was with a good quality nespresso capsule. It took about 15 seconds to pump through the water, and while you could see that it wasn’t as high a pressure as my Nespresso machine achieves, it still created a coffee with a crema and extracted a lot of the flavour out of the pod. I transferred the output into my espresso cup and enjoyed a very nice cup – I’d say it was 80% as nice as my big machine can produce.I did try the device with ground coffee too, unfortunately this did not work as well. I think it just does not build up anything like as much pressure and the resultant coffee tasted more like a small filter coffee. Drinkable, and better than instant, but nothing like as good as the capsule produced brew.In short, while the ground coffee capability was weak, this device still massively outperformed my expectations and will now accompany me whenever I travel. Never again will I be stuck someone surviving on tea.Edit: One piece of advice – while you can make the coffee directly into your cup, removing the included plastic cup, I don’t recommend it. I was doing this and then a pod failed and the pressure released instantly sending grounds everywhere and causing the liquid in the cup to go everywhere too!

Versatile. I can use popular pods and coffee capsules as well as coffee grounds.Although not as great as regular espresso machines, this is still able to give me the coffee I love while not at home and travelling. Especially outdoors.I could charge it via USB C so I am able to use a powerbank in case it runs out of charge. It still produces a creamy coffee, not as hot as a regular espresso machine but hot enough to enjoy a good cuppa.A great gift for coffee lovers too.

  12. Customer Review

The Portable Espresso Coffee Machine offers a versatile and travel-friendly way to enjoy espresso on the go, accommodating big capsules, small capsules, and ground coffee. Priced at £60, it’s a compact solution ideal for camping, the office, or home use.Performance & Features:This coffee maker delivers surprisingly good espresso with rich crema, particularly when using Nespresso-compatible capsules. The extraction process, while not as high-pressure as full-scale machines, still provides flavourful results—around 80% as good as a home Nespresso machine. It supports both self-heating and pre-heated water, though the latter is recommended for better temperature consistency and energy efficiency. When using ground coffee, the flavour is less impressive, resembling a light filter brew rather than true espresso. That said, this versatility remains a useful feature for those without access to pods.Ease of Use:The machine is straightforward to use, featuring a small plastic cup to catch the coffee. It’s worth noting that removing the cup to pour directly into another mug can lead to accidental spills if pressure builds unexpectedly. Heating and brewing take a few minutes, so patience is required—but the results are satisfying for a portable device. The included manual is somewhat basic, lacking detailed cleaning instructions, which could impact the longevity of the device if maintained incorrectly.Build Quality & Design:This coffee maker is well-built with a sleek, flask-like design. Compact and lightweight, it’s perfect for travel, though it might draw attention during use in public settings like busses and trains due to its noise level towards the end of brewing. The sharp metal spike for piercing pods is functional but should be handled carefully.Drawbacks:- The self-heating function struggles to reach ideal brewing temperatures, with coffee often dispensed at around 70°C, below the optimal range for purists. Pre-heated water ensures a more satisfying cup.- The performance with ground coffee is less impressive compared to capsules.- The high price point makes it better suited as a gift item than a must-have, especially since similar devices are available for less.Verdict:The Portable Espresso Coffee Machine is a handy gadget for coffee enthusiasts looking for quality espresso on the go. While its performance with ground coffee and self-heating could be better, it excels with capsules and delivers impressive results for its size. Compact, well-made, and easy to use, it’s a great choice for camping, travel, or work. If you’re willing to prioritise convenience over perfection, this is worth considering. ☕✨

PROS-convenient, can make espresso anywhere-very easy to use (though I highly recommend using already boiling water, it takes ages to heat water and the coffee still comes out not as hot as I’m used to)-relatively small and light (compared to bringing a “proper” machine around)-decent battery life-can make coffee with capsules, or with ground coffee-USB-C charging-is relatively quiet (though it is quite audible, perhaps don’t use this in a quiet location)CONS-this doesn’t produce as high a pressure as my home machine, and the extraction reflects this-charges at only 11 W, so be prepared for a long time getting it back to full charge-when using ground coffee, the flavour is quite a bit weaker than my home espresso machine-too bad the instructional sticker on the side is wonky, it shows a lack of care-I’m afraid I’ve seen this same machine elsewhere on Amazon for far less than this one was listed for when I ordered it (thought it’s no longer available at this link as I write this review).NOTES-this isn’t my first battery-powered espresso maker. My first uses a 12V battery (and power brick charger), is larger, it only works with Nespresso pods, and was almost twice the price (or 3x the price if you shop around). I like this one much more.-why the big yellow disc on top? It looks like a button, it moves a bit (button-like), but it is not a buttonMY STAR RATINGS:1* substandard, mostly cons2** barely acceptable, cons outweigh the pros3*** meets the basic requirements, cons balance the pros4**** good product, pros outweigh the cons5***** exceptional, all (or almost all) pros
