I have always wanted one.
i can remember when I was a kid, I was always fascinated by the Globe sitting on the bookcase in the Geography classroom. I loved looking at each continent, all the countries, and how they related to each other on a global scale.Ever since those days, decades ago, I’ve longed to have a globe of my own. I know I could never afford a ‘scientific’ globe like we had in school. Those cost hundreds of dollars, IF you can still find them!I found this 8″ globe from JOHWOL quite by mistake. I don’t remember what I was shopping for, when I spotted this. (Amazon is good for leading you to other ideas for purchases.) But, after I read a little about it and saw the price, I couldn’t resist it.I will admit, I was a little skeptical about it being only 8″ in diameter. The globes I saw, back in the day, seemed huge to me. But I was very pleasantly surprised as to how good this one looks and how detailed it is for it’s size. 8″ is a lot larger than you think, when it comes to something like this.Not only is it detailed enough to see many of the countries on each continent, most of the borders are up to date with the current political boundaries. All of the wording is easy to read. The globe itself is very well made. The stand is very sturdy. All of the colors are bright and clear.My wife and I are planning many intercontinental voyages. It’s nice to look at this globe, as we plan, to get a visual on the distances. In one of the pics, I point out where we live. How fun is that?We’re very happy with this new addition to our display case and object of learning.

I have a friend who always wanted a lighted globe. I purchased this for her, and I know she will be happy with it. It works and looks really nice when it is turned on and the lights in the room are out. My only complaint is that the details could be a little bit darker as contracts to the shape of the countries.

Looked at many, best choice to me. And no assembly needed.
The Globe support material being metal and its base wood, gives it a more attractive appearance in my view. The image printing of the Globe is very clear, though tiny printing as expected. The globes surface material is applied cleanly, being smooth and no bubbles or flaws and better than what I was expecting being a low cost Globe. I was hesitant to get one that also has an illumination light inside but discovered it helpful when reading details. My only option of what could of been better is the Equator seam connection, could of been done with a better seam tape, but an acceptable minor thing.

Very accurate
I have no complaints. I’m an empty nester and I want to travel. I moved into a small apartment and this works well for a light and for a new destination. I have found it’s very accurate. It has everything on there. Even though it’s small when I hold it close I can see everything without glasses. I’ve had to return ones because of the accuracy or because states or capitals were left out. This one has all of it.

Está bien el mundito. Tiene tamaño suficiente para tenerlo en el escritorio. Apaga y prende luz e iluminado en la noche, se ve muy bonito. Solo falta hacer que gire.
