It’s not the lock they use at Fort Knox, but it works well for travel or for cafes.
I use this to secure my backpack at cafes or to secure my luggage when I’m traveling. For those purposes it works great because it is so small and lightweight. But beyond stopping someone from snatching your bag, I wouldn’t recommend using it to secure valuable items. The lock is lightweight and cheap (which makes it great for travel) but that also means that you have to be sensible with how you use it. If you’re looking for something with the durability and security of a bike lock, then this probably isn’t for you. If you want something to secure your backpack at a cafe table for a couple of minutes while you order, then this is a great product.

Great purchase and easy to use
Bought these for a trip to Europe. They were recommended for the train as you’re sometimes not able to keep an eye on your luggage. We did end up using them and the comfort of knowing our luggage was secure made the purchase worth it. They were very easy to “code” and to secure around your luggage and train rails.

Nice lock for its intended use
First off, this is not going to stop a hardened thief. Anyone carrying a pair of wire cutters could cut right through the cable. I would only suggest this for brief periods when you walk away from your bike. Not for overnight parking or longer term storage. I got the green model to make it stand out in my black saddlebags. Oddly, pricing varies by color. The combination reset switch is extremely hard to move, so hard that I initially thought my unit was defective. But I finally figured out the technique. So don’t give up if you order this. The cable is roughly two feet long and that is more than adequate to secure a helmet to a bike. It has three dials which enable combinations up to 1,000. Someone with enough time on their hands could conceivably try every one until they hit it. A 4th dial would solve that, but as I said – this is not a long term security solution. I really just needed it for quick stops for lunch, gas ups, or other brief exits from the bike. It locks and releases easily, and is lightweight and takes up hardly any room. It’s not heavy duty, but will do the job briefly which is all I need.

Does Not Secure Properly. Faulty.
When you retract the cord to make it the right size it does not lock in at that length, so anyone could open the cabinet that I am trying to keep secure. Bad product. No peace of mind.

Works Well
It’s easy to use. The cable is long enough that I use it to secure my helmet to my motorcycle when I leave the bike. It’ll never stop a determined thief, but it’ll work well enough to stop an impulse snatch and grab.

Lock Suitcases Together or Lock to a Rail
When traveling by train, we often had to leave our luggage in a rack behind where I was going to sit. I didn’t like turning my back on our bags, so I bought this lock and used it to either lock our two suitcase handles together (too awkward for a thief to rush away with) or to a nearby rail. Sure, someone could cut the cable or smash the mechanism, but thieves do not bring the right tools; they prefer a quick grab and run. The combination lock mechanism is easy to both secure and unlock. The only con is that it feels delicate, as though it would not be durable, but it is actually quite strong. I leave the lock on the handle on my backpack for quick access when needed.

Good for Exrra Layer of Security, but Not Good for Main Layer of Security
This lock is amazing if you are in a hurry and only if you lock it up in public places with cameras watching you because it’s not built for Max durability or does not have military grade technology protection for the cable.I paid $12 in my honest opinion I think it’s worth for the size, durability, I think it’s worth around 8 not 12 but if you’re in a hurry and you park your bike in a public places in front of cameras, this lock is really good for quick run and run out action.As you can see in the image, I do not post the image to downgrade the product but I bought this before I bought a cable and a vibration alarm for my bicycle and at the time this cable lock was all I had.That was a bad idea to have this if that’s all you have because if you’re in a city like me that is growing daily with thieves that that get away with vandalizing your stuff right front cameras, you’re going to need a thicker more durable cable lock and a vibration alarm, and also good knowledge of law enforcement if you use self defense weapons.This locks cable broke so easy, it was not even the cable that broke but the cable head. This lock can be easily fixed, because of the way it broke but if this is all I have my back is very under protected.Don’t forget that no matter how many locks and cables you have, thieves always have knives and they love to go for the tires so you going to need something like I a motorcycle tarp to cover up the bicycle as well.There’s some parts that are quick and easy but just be prepared to always watch your bicycle when you lock up, because the best defense for your bicycle is a baseball bat with law enforcement respect for proper use AKA go for the legs.I would buy this again but only after I had a vibration alarm and a durable cable lock which I now have.In the image, everything still works properly except for the fact the cable needs to be repaired and maybe I can have a guy down the road fix it at his car shop.

Super practico para para asegurar tu mochila.Por lo regular me gusta llevar una mochila a la playa para ahi guardar mis lentes, telefono, cartera, bocina, llaves, cambio, camara, bloqueadores, toalla etcEl problema es que cuando viajo solo siempre tengo pendiente de dejarla sola cuando me meto a nadar al mar o te paras a caminar, al baño o a equis cosa.Vi este candado para amarrar cosas y fue la solucion perfecta, le metes un candado a los cierres de tu mochila y por el candado le pasas el cable y lo puedes fijar al poste de la palapa o a tu camastro.Es imposible que abran tu mochila o se la lleven (Ojo ocupas un candado de viaje y este candado con cable) de esta manera puedes asegurar decenas de cosas.Obvio esto para un ambiente turistico, el cable es delgado pero bastante fuerte, imposible de tronar en un entorno de este tipo, el cable es bastante largo, da para rodear postes y el seguro por combinacion es muy bueno.Trae un boton retractil.Yo creo sirve para viajes, oficina, escuela etcExcelente producto, totalmente recomendable.

After my last combination lock got broke, I got this one as I hoped it would last. It was much bigger than expected, but it held out pretty well. I use it on a rolling tool bag to keep 2 zippered panels closed, and as I can use just 1 lock, its great. I can’t attest to the durability as it got cut off in Australia as they didn’t have the ability to use a TSA key?? (They were kind enough to put it in the tool bag, with a nice cut mark through the wire)

Unheimlich vielseitig einsetzbares Schloß mit dünnem Stahlseil, das es möglich macht, Türen und Klappen zu sichern, die mit einem herkömmlichen Schloß oder Riegel nicht zu schließen sind. Es ist natürlich auch hervorragend für Gepäck geeignet. Es ist vielleicht nicht gegen schweres Gerät eines Einbrechers oder Diebes die beste Lösung, aber im Alltag die Lösung für viele kleine Dinge, damit ihnen keine “Beine wachsen”.Übrigens wird das Schloß nicht immer in blau geliefert, die Farbe variiert. Ich habe z.B. ein orangenes Schloß bekommen und bin sehr damit zufrieden.
