Excellent shoe!!
I’ve owned these for a few months now and have put them through the paces. I’m a FedEx courier and run a very rural route in the hills of interior Alaska.Great fit and comfortable. Very little wear fatigue, if at all. I love that the outer upper stays very clean and black. The tread is aggressive and keeps me stable in mud and loose gravel. My feet stay locked in with no exit slippage.I put a LOT of miles on my shoes and these have held up better than any I’ve owned over the past 5 years.Looks and performs exceedingly well. Will absolutely buy again. 👍

Comfortable and durable
The Merrell Moabs are durable, comfortable hiking shoes with excellent traction, cushioned insole, and solid arch support. They are breathable, supportive, and great for a variety of terrains, making them a solid choice for hikers and walkers at any level.

Mostly Good !
The quality of the build is really good. The shoe size and fit were right on. I am looking forward to many miles.Merrell boasts that the laces are made of recycled material, but they are round and do not stay tied unless you double knot them. Pretty sad for a quality hiking shoe in 2025. Also, the liners are comfortable out of the box, but it is obvious I will need to replace/upgrade these in pretty short order. Again, the build of the shoe is done well.

Durable, Supportive, and Worth It
High-quality hiking shoe with excellent support and protection on rocky trails. It took a little time to break them in, but once they did, they felt sturdy and comfortable. I actually bought two pairs because they perform so well.

Comfortable and lightweight hiking shoes
The shoe fits true to size. I am very pleased with the black color and the design of the shoe. It does keep my feet warm and they are very comfortable to wear in the rain and it is perfect for hiking. The material does keep the water out. There is also a version of this shoe that is waterproof. I was able to hike in Alaska through muddy trails with no issues. It provided good support over my 3 mile hike. And the shoes were easy to clean afterwards. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase.

Great shoe and good price
I had an upcoming alaska trip and I needed a good pair of hiking shoes that were waterproof. I picked Merrell because of their reputation. I thought the price was really great. I needed the wider size and the shoes were comfortable. I wore them a couple times before my trip and there were no hot spots and were extremely comfortable. They are light but sturdy and great support. These are really nice hiking shoes.

Comfort and reliability at an affordable price
This shoe is comfortable and meets all of my walking/hiking needs. I just completed a trip where I hiked in the Bighorn Mountains of Wyoming. I wore these shoes all day for several consecutive days and I couldn’t be happier with the performance.Before buying, I watched multiple videos on YouTube rating hiking shoes. The Merrill Moabs were nearly always in the top three reviewed, receiving high marks on build quality and comfort. Reviewers also rated the shoe’s performance high. As a non-professional hiker, this was good enough for me. If any of the online reviewers were to ask me, and I know none will, I’d commend them for their reviews. They steered me towards these shoes, and I’m glad they did.While none of the trails I hiked were extreme, I did encounter many rocks/boulders, tree stumps, and obstacles such as fallen trees and other challenges. The Moabs met each challenge. Prior to my trip, I’d been wearing these at my cabin where I go for lengthy walks along paved and unpaved roads. Again, the Moabs met all conditions I experienced with comfort and durability. For my style of walking and hiking, I feel confident that I’ve purchased an affordable yet reliable shoe.I’ve used hiking boots for years, but I wanted a shoe that, while it doesn’t provide the ankle support of a boot, was still rugged and able to serve me as I expected to be served. The Moab has thus far met all of my expectations, though I will update this review if I experience and issues. But for now, I recommend these to anyone who is a casual walker/hiker similar to me.

This is my third pair of the Goretex version and I’m sadly disappointed with the inner heel as there appears to be a ridge which caused a blister on my right foot, this was not as prominent on the left foot, so waiting for my heel to heal before wearing them again but tempted to send them back
