Struggles in low light, but does great in well lit spaces
I have a Yi M1 M4/3 mirrorless camera from 8 years ago that I paired with this lens and I’m surprised how nice my photos turned out. This is a really nice lens for the cost, and since my camera is also plastic the lens doesn’t weigh it down. For daytime shooting this is my favorite.Edit: I ordered this October 17th at $199, so do not believe the Black Friday pricing. They artificially inflated the price in order to bring it back down to normal price. This is a super cheap autofocus lens, $250 is probably too much.

Incognito Telephoto Zoom
This is the perfect vacation and walk around telephoto zoom for micro four thirds. It’s tiny! It doesn’t even look like a zoom! If you’ve ever had the problem of family members cheesing for the camera because they see you pull out a behemoth of a lens from the across the room, this lens will help you sigh in relief. No one will notice you happily snapping away. Street photography? Yes, please! As an 80-300mm full frame equivalent, you will be capturing intimate moments and beautiful faces around town without anyone giving you the stink eye for carrying around a camera lens in the shape of a bazooka. Don’t try using this in low light situations unless you plan on strong noise removal, but for both indoor and outdoor shooting where you aren’t going above ISO 3200, you should be fine. Having the FASTEST or LARGEST lens doesn’t always mean it is the right tool for the job!

For $199 bucks. You be the judge.
For $199 it made sense to give this affordable MFT zoom lens a trial before plunking down 4x-8x more dough for a OM Pro version. I am not a professional photographer but in the past I had owned a L Series Canon 75-300mm DO lens. And I have to say I missed that ability to zoom in, and I call it “stealing photos” of things that the kit lens just can’t get to. So I added this lens to my recently purchased OM-5 kit. It made a lot of sense after reading the reviews of how small and lightweight this lens is. And it is. Paired with the OM-5 it becomes a portable powerhouse setup. Attached are some photos I shot at the zoo with this lens. The photos were shot in RAW and edited down to these jpegs. Enjoy!

The “Plastic Fantastic”
First off: this is not a $2000 lens. The body is plastic, it’s not fully electronically controled, and there’s definitely a drop in quality at the highest zoom. But for a $200 travel lens? Absolutely amazing. I’ve heard the phrase “plastic fantastic” more than once referring to this specific lens, and it’s the perfect description. I really don’t think there’s much competition at this price point.

Superb lens, despite no stabilisation. When paired with a Lumix G80, which has IBIS, it works very well. Optically, I can’t really fault it. Used primarily for wildlife and the odd airshow. It is very lightweight which surprised me a little.
