The LEICA DG SUMMILUX 9mm F1.7 is for use by professionals and high amateur users for both photo shooting and video recording, capable of smooth, silent operation to work with the camera’s high-speed, high-precision contrast AF system with the sensor drive at max.240 fps. For the non-linear setting, focus is shifted with a variable amount according to the rotation speed of the focus ring while focus is shifted with a designated amount according to the rotational quantum of the focus ring for the linear setting. It also excels in video recording performance, with a mechanism that suppresses focus breathing, together with a micro-step aperture control for smooth exposure change. Comprised of twelve lens elements in nine groups including two aspherical lenses, H-X09 has two ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) lenses and one UHR (Ultra High Refractive Index) lens to effectively suppress both axial chromatic aberration and chromatic aberration of magnification. With its approximately 130g compact size and light weight, the LEICA DG SUMMILUX 9mm F1.7 features stunning mobility that Micro Four Thirds system boasts. The rugged dust/splash-resistant*2 design withstands use under harsh conditions even at 10 degrees below zero. The filter diameter is 55 mm, with a 7-blade circular aperture diaphragm. *Dust and splash resistance does not guarantee that damage will not occur if this lens is subjected to direct contact with dust and water.

Be mindful of fast panning motion to keep edge tearing to a minimum when using this lens
Optically, this is a great wide angle lens. It is great for shooting at night on Micro four thirds cameras like the GH5, 6 and 7, however, one thing to note there is some serious edge tearing when doing fast panning motion. other than that this lens is a must

A bit pricey but worth it.
On Micro Four Thirds camera bodies, this lens has an 18mm equivalent angle of view. It’s an “ultrawide” lens, in other words. Even shooting wide open at f/1.7 aperture, I was pleasantly surprised by the sharpness and contrast. This is a fantastic lens, folks.

I have been thinking about getting an ultra wide lens for some time and I am sorry I waited so long. I considered several different ones and I think this one has them all beat. It also opens up a lot of new photographic possibilities and creativity. Over all I am very happy with this lens. PS: It was shipped in a well padded box and not a padded envelope.

Musste es leider aus England importieren lassen, wurde deshalb etwas teurer. Aber die Bildqualität ist sehr gut im Bereich Makroaufnahmen. Werde es auch noch für Astrofotographie verwenden, da es sehr lichtstark ist.Nachtrag: Wie man sieht an den Nachtfotos, es ist extrem lichtstark👍, eine Empfehlung für Astrofotografie👍👌

Everything about this lens is fun. Good focal length, nice depth of field, sharp and super small and light – more than you expect it will be. Makes the camera feel like an entirely different system than it is with a 12-35 or something like that.
