Great for the price
This reader has everything that I need. It’s a little slow to load up a book or comic initially but reading them is fine. I love that it has an SD card slot and buttons, and there are a lot of customizations for button mapping and gestures. The store isn’t great, but I don’t need to use it to get my books so it isn’t a problem for me.

5000+ Calibre ebook library, no problem
Absolutely adore this thing. I used Calibre Library to easily convert my library of over 5000 EPUB books and PDF periodicals (using the “PocketBook Touch Lux” plugin) over to it. I put in a 128GB SD card (way overkill!), formatted it with the PocketBook Verse via the settings menus (About Device or whatever… it’s in there), then plugged it in with USB, and Calibre saw the “Main” (on-board memory), and “Disk A” (SD card). Converted… bam.I am a bedtime reader, only. I require no bright, blue light. I require that it’s light and easy to hold above my face with one arm. This e-reader is EXTREMELY light. I got a cover for it for travel, but I leave that off and bought a stretchy 6-7inch “hand strap” that hooks over corner to corner or edge to edge on the back. Perfect!I am coming from years of 7-8″ Android and Kindle-converted-to-Android tablets w/ Moon+ Pro set up. These have always allowed me to adjust the dimness and red light well. And I will miss the continuous-scroll of Moon+ Pro. But, not too much. The 6″ size of this ereader means that my hand does not have to shift at all to read the entire page comfortably. And, the huge bezel space at the bottom makes for easy holding, especially with the hook-on hand strap. I can flip up or down with the same hand. Also, their larger batteries and glass made them so much heavier.I like the dumb little games, too. Sometimes, ya just want to do a puzzle before sleeping, instead of reading. Handy! No more puzzle mag and red reading light! The price is reasonable. ($140USD in August 2025). I think it feels more like a $100 device, honestly. But, I’m ok with it. Debating purchasing another to hold onto, in case they knock this lower end out of production. The Pro models and others have stuff I just do not need. The battery will last EASILY over a month, given I leave it in airplane mode (all radios off) and brightness so low and only use it for 30 mins or so per night. Batteries on the normal ereaders would last just over one week with the same habits. So, I really like this about it.EDIT (Nov 9, 2025): Three months later, and it’s still on the initial charge of the battery. It’s at about 57%. This thing could potentially last me 6 months on a single charge, the way I am using it. I have read about 850 pages in this time, but not sure if that is helpful because font sizes could differ. I am reading the Ivory Carver trilogy, which claims to be 1100-ish pages in a single ePUB. I have returned to definitely purchase another to hold on to. This is my all-time favorite e-reader.

Mozilla just ended pocketbook cloud so in the USA i have not found an alternitive
This has 8gbs of storage plus sd card slot for 128gbs more. I put the pocketbook app on my phone and linked my Google play books account. Then I download a Google book on the phone app it then goes to pocketbook cloud. I did this with 30 books at one and then turned on my pocketbook verse and turned on wifi gave it a couple on minutes to sync when to library switch it to cloud and my books were there for downloading to the e-reader. You can use dropbox to do this as well but Dropbox charges money. Phone app and cloud is free. I’m very happy with this reader I’ve read 4 books and its still at 75% battery life. It actually runs Google books faster that the Google book app on e ink tablets. The page turn buttons work great and you can turn it sideways to read on it. Awesome little reader. 212ppi isn’t that bad to look at some fonts display better than others. Hopefully it lasts me years to come. UPDATE Mozilla ending pocketbook cloud service jusy made my life harder. dropbox is so glitchy you cant use it so im hoping someone will make a cloud book share service for pocketbooks in the USA so i can wirelessly transfer google books to the verse. I will keep looking because the pocketbook store is exspensive and a nightmare to navigate.

I love everything about this device compared to my Kindle Paperwhite, except 1 thing.
I love everything about this device compared to my Kindle Paperwhite, except 1 thing.+ I love the screen, it’s a warm color compared to the Kindle Paperwhite which has a green hue.+ The ability to use it without creating an account, being forced to their store, and being bombarded with ads.+ The buttons. I didn’t think I would use them. But now I don’t like reading on the paperwhite at night because the Pocketbook is easier to hold one hand and press a button to change pages.+ I can use a capacitive stylus to mark notes on a page. Now for the one thing I really don’t like. The highlighting of text. This is slow, glitchy, often jumps around the page. And generally breaks the flow of reading. If I only read fiction and didn’t annotate, this would be my top device. If you often annotate, I would look at alternative device.

Good for the price, takes a wide variety of files.
Simple little ereader. I dumped 2100+ books on it and still haven’t filled the internal memory. It has a lot of power saving options, I’m excited to carry it.

Great ebook reader
Love that thing! Reads any format in any language, handles all images great, very convenient to use, not very obnoxious in terms of selling you stuff. Highly recommended.

Great device but easily broken
I loved the design and versatility of the device. The amount of formats it can handle. The way it fit in my pocket. Unfortunately as many others have said the e-ink screen has mysteriously cracked. This is a wonderful device but the most fragile e-reader i have ever owned. I still have quite a few kindles but i dont want to go back to that walled garden. Oh well back to the phone.

Świetny czytnik na początek przygody z e-czytaniem. Mały, poręczny, ciekawy wygląd. Kupiłem dla dziecka, który jest bardzo z niego zadowolony. Kiedy nie czyta gra na nim w szachy. Jedyny minus to rozdzielczość. Trochę brakuje mu ostrości (mam porównanie do Pocketbook Inkpad 3 Kolor) ale nie ma tragedii.

I had an epub collection beforehand and this works perfectly. had no issues at all with the transfer through email and through PC link unlike some other reviews.

I have a 13-inch iPad and was always looking forward to investing in a good E-Reader. Purchased this E-Reader almost a year ago so this is a long-term review. Kindles are limited in terms of storage (ones with 128GB are really expensive) and sideloading books, PDF and EPUB files. was a little skeptical in terms of the company and how the software would turn up. Almost a year later I can assure you that this is one of my best tech purchases. The text is nice and sharp. The backlight is on point though I’ve not used it a lot. I like using a natural light source or an external light source. the 128GB SD card support essentially means you can have over 5000 EPUB books onboard. Highly Recommended!
