Protect your identity. All US passports issued after October 2006, as well as many debit/credit cards and drivers licenses have RFID radio frequency identification chips that broadcast personal information 24/7. A person with a scanner could potentially read the personal data on your card or passport. The Travelon RFID blocking products blocks transmission of this information when the cards are in the RFID blocking product, compartment or pocket, preventing unauthorized access.
Effectively blocks RFID readers from capturing information
Many debit/credit cards have RFID chips with personal data
Design enables passport to scan without removal from case

Well-Made Case Which Adds Minimal Bulk…
The Travelon RFID BLocking Passport Case is a well-made, attractive case – and, unfortunately, in today’s world where unscrupulous individuals have devices to read RFID documents and steal personal information, a real necessity. This case is constructed of ballistic nylon and leather; all edges are encased by leather trim piping. This should provide protection from wear and tear on the corners which normally wear faster than other areas of similarly shaped items. Further, the corners are mitered which reduced bulk at those points. Additionally, this is a sign of quality construction since mitering takes more time and effort if the manufacturer wants to produce clean corners. The case’s stitching is even and smooth; I noticed no loose threads or thread ends projecting to prick one when reaching for this case.I liked the way one could slip the front and back covers of a passport into pockets on each side of the case. This holds the passport securely without having any pages contained so the passport must be removed for inspection. A ribbon marker in the center of the case can be used to “bookmark” the page containing the traveler’s picture so that one does not have to page through the passport in order to locate the picture. If one does not put credit cards into the case, along with a passport, the case is about 3/8″ thick when closed; the actual passport is about 1/8″ thick, so the case adds about 1/4″ of bulk. In researching RFID blocking passport cases, the Travelon seemed to be the least bulky of those offered by trusted manufacturers and sellers. Personally, I do not like the idea of having my credit cards, driver’s license, etc. in the same case as my passport and will probably purchase a second case in a different color to hold these items should the necessity arise.I ordered my Travelon RFID Blocking Passport Case on a Tuesday night, selecting super-saver shipping, and received the case on Friday. Amazon’s superior service is always something I can count on.

Great Quality, needs one tweak to be perfect.
Just received the case and the quality is apparent as soon as I opened the package. I ordered 3 different types of Travelon RFID passport cases for the family and everyone is made with the same quality standard. I ordered another leather passport case for another family member and the quality doesn’t even compare to the Travelon. Very satisfied with product quality. Has room for 5 credit cards and also has a bookmark ribbon. I have my passport inserted so when the case is opened my photo page is displayed. I assumed this is how the case is intended to be used. When the case is in the closed position it actually stays open about an inch or so when at rest. It doesn’t do this without the passport. I have experienced this with various other passport holders. The case won’t stay closed tight on its own, or any case for that matter. I use a nice red rubber band to wrap around the case and keep it closed tight. Adds a little flair and helps identify it from the other 2 black ones I have for the family.US passports are most vulnerable when they are open. You can position the passport in this case where it would be safe even when open. I wish it was the standard configuration but its not. (See #2 below) That would involve inserting the front cover(and only the front cover) of the passport into the area behind the credit card holders where the back of the passport would normally go. You can then bookmark you identification page with the ribbon and the passport would be protected even when opened. The only inconvenience is you would open the case from the back instead of the front; passport would be installed upside-down I guess is the best way to describe it.. Hard to describe but visually it will make sense. Not giving a 5 star for two reasons:1. I am not sure of the long term durability of the product but I am very confident this won’t be an issue as I stated the quality is very good.2. Not having a complete RFID shielded area for the front cover of the passport (when opened) behind the clear page cover that your ID page slips into. Installing the passport in this holder still makes it vulnerable when open. Having an extra sleeve would complete shield the RFID chip completely protecting it while open. To my knowledge, no passport holders on the market have this feature and I am not sure why.

    Does what it says
I wanted to wait until I had a chance to use this a few times before giving this a review. Finally, after two years, I can say I have thoroughly tested this passport wallet. In short, it does what it is supposed to do, and it does it well. Yes, it blocks RFID. My phone will beep anytime an RFID signal gets near it and I never hear anything from my passport in this wallet. Beyond that, it actually makes a good carrying case as well. It is easy to use, durable and has storage for cards (which I also used for currency). It strikes a good balance between securing my passport, but also is easy enough to remove for customs or scanning at airline kiosks. There isn’t much to say about how it looks, which is part of the appeal to me. I didn’t want it to stand out. The price is reasonable as well and would purchase it again.

Reasonably prices and appears to be of good quality. I haven’t had a chance to travel with this yet and put it to a real life test but it has enough slots for the number of credit cards and that I would normally travel with.

Slim, lightweight, plenty of pockets but a very tight fit for a passport. My only concern is the durability as I’m already noticing some loose threads. But for $20, why not.
