Best Coleman Dark Room Tent
This is the best coleman dark room tent. It offers a window at the door and a back window for cross ventilation. I also own the 4 person Sundome and it is almost the same, but doesn’t have a pocket to feed in an extension cord. I tried the Coleman Skydome dark room 8 person and returned it because it had only one window at the door for cross ventilation and the attached poles were a pain, so I returned it. I have found tents to get hot, so you need that cross ventilation. The Sundome poles are not attached, but for me they are more manageable. I also tried the Coleman Stardome dark room 6 person purchase through Walmart and found that the tent was not all fully dark rest, or at least the tent I got. The Stardome had a large back window to see the stars or cross ventilation, but it was hard to open fully unless you are really tall and it would not be usable if it rains. The Stardome also has attached poles that stay in the middle which take getting used to for packing up. I also returned this one back to Walmart after trying it for 2 nights and not sleeping well with the light coming through.I have loved using dark technology tents because I am a light sleeper. I have Ozark Instant 6 person and 10 person tents and I love them because they are darker than the Coleman, and have more windows. Ozark tents also have skylight ceiling panels that I can open in the morning and bring in the sunlight and at night you can close the panel which allow the tents to stay warmer than other tent. My Ozark dark tent are not that great with rain because the rainfly doesn’t cover the door, when in a rainy camp trip, I had to have a towel at the door for all the rain that would come in. Also, Ozark’s 6 person tent is not tall enough for me to stand in so I tried out Coleman for the compactness, dark technology and better for rain due to how they make the front door rainfly. I use the 4 person Sundome Coleman tent when it is just me and stay in snow or very cold weather, but I needed one for me and the husband where I could stand without taking the 10 person instant dark Ozark tent. This was the best alternative. Now, I am 5’9″ and I can stand inside the Sundome tent, but the Skydome and Stardome truly have 20% more headroom space.I hope this help someone in making their purchase.

Great value: easy set up, good quality, spacious, good ventilation, and dark!
We aren’t big campers, but use a tent a few times per year. I had a 3 person tent from 20 years ago, that was just too small. My priorities were:1. Affordable quality2.Darkness3. Ventilation4. Easy set-up5. Enough room for 4 people to be comfortable, with extra space for clothes, etc.6. Room for an adult to stand up straightThis tent hits all of those points. I’m very pleased with this tent!I considered getting the Coleman Skydome, but prefer having tent poles that are detached so I can repair or replace them if they are broken.I considered getting the Coleman Sundome without the dark technology, but am very happy with the darkness. You can still see without a flashlight inside the tent during the day, but I don’t think it’s too bright that it would keep you awake in the evening or wake you up in the morning.I considered getting the Skydome with a screen porch (but didn’t want the attached poles) or the Coleman Carlsbad (but it was a pretty big price jump and I was concerned about the tent taking up too much ground space), but ultimately am really happy with the 6 person Sundome with dark technology.I highly recommend this tent!

I can finally sleep in while camping
I wish there were more options for these light blocking tents. Forever I’ve used a Coleman Weathermaster 10 tent. That’s a great tent for sure but it doesn’t block any light. I find it difficult to sleep in once the sun’s up and nearly impossible to take a nap. It’s just too bright. The Dark Room technology of this tent fixed that. It blocks out almost all the light making it much easier for me to sleep. Bonus effect… it stays cooler inside as well. Very easy to set up, as most dome tents are. I chose this model over other six person tents because of the 10×10 footprint. Others were slightly smaller by a few square feet. It was also easier to find a good tent pad to go under it. I look forward to many years of camping with it.

Check Tent Poles Carefully!
I love this tent, we use it constantly! Perfectly dark when needed but easily converted to sky gazer upon request. We’ve used it in winds, rain , and heat with no issues. Our 24” thick queen air mattress fits with room to spare. Only issue we have experienced was a damaged tent pole which I noticed the first time we used it. This pole split all the way the second use. Still waiting for warranty replacement.

Stood up against strong Georgia storm
We camp the weekend and on day two had a big storm with lots of wind and strong rain. No leak, stayed completely dry. Easy to popup and easy to fold away. Darkroom really works.

Avoid at all cost, tent collapsed on me and my kids during windy conditions (the poles snapped). All the tents around the camp site kept up.

Super price – not available in italy – super dark room and dimension. Good package and delivery. Beautiful colors and it seems really easy to pickup. I will write something more after use in camping….
